Construction Phases

There’s nothing nicer than diving into your very own pool during the hottest days of summer, and here in Wichita, those days can be absolutely blistering. So, let Treescapes help you beat the heat with a custom-designed pool, or a full backyard oasis.

As you might imagine, installing a pool is no light task; full installation can take anywhere between 4 and 6 weeks. And since installing a pool requires a wide variety of equipment, and lots of digging, you don’t want just to entrust that sort of work to just anyone. With over twenty years of experience, you know that Treescapes has what it takes to do the job, and do it well.

slide6 - Construction Phases

There are roughly 16 steps involved in installing a pool from scratch. Let’s take a look at them:

  1. Design

Treescapes knows that the perfect pool is your pool, something that you had a firm hand in designing. Together with one of our talented architects, you’ll hash out the basic details of your pool. We’ll take into consideration various factors, such as accessibility, positioning, utilities, and overall dimensions. A few days later, we’ll get back to you plan and proposed cost for review.

  1. Permits and Approvals

Since we’ll be bringing in plenty of equipment and machinery, permits are a given. No work can commence until we get them approve. After the plan has been finalized, we’ll see to that.

  1. Layout

To ensure that the pool is exactly where it should be, we lay out form boards to etch out its location.

  1. Excavation

Once we’ve laid out the form boards, excavation can begin with skid-steer loaders. They’re able to precisely cut away the walls of the pool-to-be.

  1. Structural Steel

We lay the steel to form the frame for the pool.

  1. Preliminary Plumbing

Typically referred to as “stubbing” out, this is when we install the main drains, skimmers, light niches, and return line. In other words, this is everything involved in plumbing except the primary pipework.

  1. Floor and Granite

1 gallon alone of water weights over 8 pounds, and pools typically have tens of thousands of gallons, so in order to support the weight of this water, pool floors consist of a dense concrete with strength at about 4,000 PSI.

  1. Tile and Coping

The tile and coping create the exterior edges of your pool. This is when it really starts to take shape, and this part of the structure in particular is a great opportunity for personalization. You’ll be able to choose from a wide variety of tile options.

  1. Main Plumbing

Standing water is dirty, unhealthy water. That’s why plumbing is so important to maintain the proper health of a pool. With efficient plumbing, the water flowing in and out will remain crystal clear.

  1. Equipment Setup

Primarily, this involves the pump, but if you chose any optional water features, they’ll be installed during this phase as well.

  1. Electrical and Gas

An equipment specialist will ensure that the breaker box, as well as any natural gas lines for the heater (or heaters) are good to go.

  1. Deck Layout and Pour

The deck is immensely customizable, from the look, to the material. Treescapes has a wide variety of deck options to choose from to help ensure that your pool is yours.

  1. Site Cleanup

Now that the pool is just about done, we come in and clear any debris or extra materials that were left over from the construction.

  1. Finishing

We coat the interior of the pool with a material of your choice, from simple white to any variety of other options.

  1. Startup and Guidance

We’ll start up the pool to make sure everything is good to go, and then at a schedule time, we’ll come out and talk you through its controls and functions.

From then out, it’s happy swimming!

David Martine is an exceptional contractor! A rarity in the Wichita area. He did an outstanding job on my pool, is responsive to questions and personally worked several Sundays to get the pool up and running by 4 July, only 4 weeks after he started. Highly recommend him!
