Hey Friends, Brinx Here! 🐾

It’s that time of year again—when the air gets crisp, the leaves fall, and it’s time to winterize your sprinkler system before the first freeze hits. Proper sprinkler shutdowns protect your irrigation system from damage and save you money when spring rolls around. Let me walk you through what Treescapes does to keep your sprinklers safe (and your wallet happy)!

Why Sprinkler Winterization Matters

  • Prevents Freeze Damage: Any leftover water in lines or valves can freeze, expand, and crack your system.

  • Protects Your Investment: Backflow devices, valves, and controllers are expensive to replace if damaged.

  • Saves Money in the Long Run: A quick winterization now can prevent hundreds of dollars in spring repairs.

  • Keeps You Code-Compliant: Backflow testing ensures your irrigation system meets Kansas safety requirements.

Brinx’s Winter Irrigation Tips 🐶

  1. Don’t Wait for Frost: Schedule your sprinkler blowout before nighttime temps dip below freezing.

  2. Mark Valve Boxes: It helps our team (and you!) find them quickly when snow covers the yard.

  3. Keep It Clear: Remove debris and leaves from irrigation boxes and around valves.

  4. Add Protection: Insulate exposed pipes and backflow devices for extra safety.
